Last month we had George Plumbing install the Smart Bottle System in our house.  Although San Antonio is well known for its hard water, we were hesitant to try "soft water" for fear of the slimy feel that goes along with a water softener.  I finally broke down after about the sixth service call on our dishwasher, the problems with our new ice maker and the early demise of all our water taps and shower heads.  George Plumbing, specifically Clay, did not act like a "salesman".  After analyzing our water (for hardness, iron, chlorine and a few other things) he discussed the available products. George, Clay and the rest of the company were excited about the new Smart Bottle system. The fact that the slick water issue had been addressed prompted us to try the system.  As a plumbing company first, I felt that we would get professional service at the time of installation and in the future.  I was right.  Installation was thorough.  The system was checked and rechecked a week later.  The company's professionalism was very impressive from beginning to the end. Our water is now soft and tastes great from every tap in the house. We have not experienced any slick feeling after taking a shower or bath.  I am very pleased with the product and have signed on for the quarterly service.

As I mentioned in my telephone call with you today, the purpose of my contact is to proffer a formal compliment of the service provided today by Jared Chuchran.

 

After only two years in our home, we recently noticed a marked decrease in the operation of our water softener. I have no knowledge or understanding of the operation of a water softener, but I am observant!  On the cover of the water softener salt reservoir, some thoughtful soul had placed an adhesive sticker for Intermountain Softwater, Incorporated.  I took the sticker’s advice and made an appointment for a service call.

 

Unfortunately, despite my retired military veteran’s status, I am employed full time and could not be present for the service call. 

 

Jarred arrived precisely on time and, despite the four inquisitive felines and equally unknowledgeable (of water softeners, only!) spouse who share my abode, he diligently set to his work.  Jarred quickly determined the water softener casualty was due to an aged (and expired) timer motor and affected the required repair.  He provided a crisp, clean explanation of water softener operation and an assessment of our antiquated model.  He offered to explain the replacement options, but was stopped by my wife, whose ability to understand mechanics is limited and frequently baffled by perforated tissue box tops.  Charlotte asked Jarred to speak with me by telephone.

 

What a thoroughly enjoyable conversation we had!  He discussed the water softener casualty and repair he made; we chatted about operation, best type of salt (coarse or pellet) to use, and what the life expectancy of our unit might be.  Jarred didn’t make my obvious lack of water softener knowledge threatening; in fact, he treated me like a family member or a trusted friend.  Jarred made me feel significant and no question I asked was ever answered in a condescending or demeaning manner.

 

What a wonderful, thoughtful and most valuable employee you have!  If you have not considered a most substantial raise for this jewel of an employee, might I inquire as to why?

 

My wife, Charlotte, felt safe in the presence of your employee; I felt confident in the knowledge and wisdom he imparted to me in our conversation. WHEN, not IF, we decide to proceed with replacement of our water softener, would you please ensure Jarred makes the service call?  If Jarred is not available, we will accept a written apology and an equally-skilled and efficient employee from Intermountain Softwater for the installation.

I just wanted to send a letter about how much we love our water with the new Water Fountain system we just bought. 
My parents had soft water growing up and I remember that the water was very salty and alsoreally slimy. 
I was excited to get soft water mainly because I was tired of cleaning up limescale all the time.

My Atlantis was going through the blue stuff pretty quickly, so you sent out Jared.  Here are my comments:

 

- The appointment was for 10:00am, he was there at 9:50am. In fact, assuming that you guys are like the rest of the building industry, I didn't get there until 9:55, planning on you arriving at 3pm.  Nice surprise.

 

- Jared was very professional. Tidy dressed, no tattoos in sight, and no reek of tobacco. Or alcohol.

 

- He respected my house and took his shoes off like we do.

 

- He is just the right amount of friendly.

 

- He is very smart. I am an engineer, and it was nice to talk to someone who knows what their product does, instead of getting sarcastically defensive because they don't.

 

- Along with being technically smart, he is very perceptive.  He metered out the level of detail I was looking for, after he perceived that I could understand more. And although he obviously knows a lot more about softeners than I do, he wasn't condescending about it.

 

All in all, a cool visit.  I like the guy.  In fact, in the future I will have y'all come back for a yearly service and check-up because I feel like I will be getting value.  I've never done that before with a softener, but I will now.

We recently moved into a home with incredibly hard water. After researching both the companies and products available in our area, we decided to give Intermountain Water a call. After contacting them it was only a matter of days before they came down to our house in SLC and analyzed our water. After analyzing our water (for hardness, iron, chlorine and a few other things) they discussed their various products and what they felt might be a good fit for our situation. They were very professional, knowledgeable and there was never any sales pressure. The same day we decided to purchase a softener / filtration they managed to get an installer to our house. Again, a very knowledgeable, professional and punctual person. About a week after installation, IW came back to re-analyze our water and make sure we were happy with their system. We are. Our water is now soft and tastes great from every tap in the house. IW costs a little more, but you get what you pay for.

"Just a note to tell you how pleased we have been with your soft water system that we had installed in our new home in Ogden, Utah. In forty years of marriage, living in four previous homes, we have never had soft water installed. In the four months that we have been using your soft water system in our new home we have noticed a distinct improvement in the water that we use for bathing, showering, and washing laundry and kitchenware. First, we noted the lack of mineral and/or soap scum buildup in all our sinks, bathtubs, showers, and toilettes. Our faucets and shower heads have shown no signs of mineral buildup, clogging or staining.

"They arrive on time or early.   If they are going to be early they call first.   They had to cancel once & were very thoughtful about it.   Tom Dinkelman & Matt Mahany are the most recent to come to our home.   They are very courteous and friendly - Answer any questions we have and ask if there is anything else we need done to the water.   They are genuine !   They do a good job - Work fast - know what they are doing - pleasant while they are doing it.   The employees that come to our home and those who I've talked to on the phone have been outstanding !   There is no "hard sell", I appreciate that.
